Cybertheft |
Our Government's investigation into the MOVEit cybersecurity breach announced June 4, has determined that employees of the NS Civil Service, Nova Scotia Health and the IWK Health Centre have had their personal information compromised. Among other Personal Identifiable Information, their investigation indicates that banking information was stolen. There are some very specific considerations in light of this: 1. Your Credit Union follows the most up to date best practices when it comes to cybersecurity and privacy. 2. We instituted multi-factor authentication for your protection. To make sure your account is protected using the controls we have in place we suggest that you change your password to one you have never used before. 3. It is essential that you are suspicious and diligent with any unsolicited communication you receive that relates to your banking information. We will not be reaching out and asking for you to verify information. You should be suspicious of any contact you receive that asks you to verify personal information you did not initiate yourself. 4. The Government has indicated that they plan to contact those impacted, but if you feel you want to take action sooner to change your account, please do not hesitate to contact us. We're here to help. Thank you. |

2-Step Verification |
We are taking the safety of your personal information very seriously. Logging in to online banking looks a little different as we have added another layer of protection. Everytime you log in to online banking, you will be prompted to enter a verification sode, sent to either your email or cell number. This was previously set up, but only asked on a periodic basis. If your email or cell number has changed, please be aware that the new contact info must be updated with us. Please call 902-424-5712 for assistance Thank you! |
