Property Taxes |
Please be advised that we are no longer offering Property Tax Administration for our Mortgage accounts. This simply means we are no longer paying the bill on your behalf. Your property tax portion will still continue with your mortgage payment. You may be recieving your tax bill and have questions. Please be advised that our letters are in transit with explanations and instructions on how to access your property tax funds going forward. When setting up the bill payment on online banking, please ensure that you are choosing "Halifax Regional Municipality- All Payments" as the Payee. Thank you. |
Cybertheft |
Our Government's investigation into the MOVEit cybersecurity breach announced June 4, has determined that employees of the NS Civil Service, Nova Scotia Health and the IWK Health Centre have had their personal information compromised. Among other Personal Identifiable Information, their investigation indicates that banking information was stolen. There are some very specific considerations in light of this: 1. Your Credit Union follows the most up to date best practices when it comes to cybersecurity and privacy. 2. We instituted multi-factor authentication for your protection. To make sure your account is protected using the controls we have in place we suggest that you change your password to one you have never used before. 3. It is essential that you are suspicious and diligent with any unsolicited communication you receive that relates to your banking information. We will not be reaching out and asking for you to verify information. You should be suspicious of any contact you receive that asks you to verify personal information you did not initiate yourself. 4. The Government has indicated that they plan to contact those impacted, but if you feel you want to take action sooner to change your account, please do not hesitate to contact us. We're here to help. Thank you. |
